FutureGenerations/CHINA Quick Facts
- FutureGenerations/CHINA is an international NGO dedicated to uniting social development and environmental protection.
- Future Generations was established in 1992 and also works in Afghanistan, Peru and India.
- Our programs focus on building lasting livelihoods for a sustainable China. Areas of focus include: environmental protection, healthcare, education and income generation.
- Future Generations has been working on community-based conservation in the Tibet for nearly two decades, and played a key role the establishment of the Qomolanga National Nature Preserve, which covers 36,000 square kilometers of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest.
- In partnership with Beijing Forestry University, Future Generations China organizes the "Green Long March," a national youth action movement for the environment that unites 5,000 students from over 50 universities.
